Appreciate cultural diversity
I am writing this post after realising from my interactions with people around me, that many of us often undermine cultural aspect before coming to a conclusion of whether something is right or wrong...
Firstly, we must understand that not every question/problem has an objective answer/solution to it. You cannot always judge a behaviour or action as universally incorrect just based on your cultural biases! Of course, according to me questions like "Is speaking a lie wrong?" has an objective answer of "Yes". But not every question can have an objective answer like that. Answer to few questions might be subject to the culture in that context... So one can't judge a person's every action by ignoring the cultural diversity...
Simple example can be pronounciation of words in a global language (at least today's) like English is done differently in different cultures...Some cultures might have not few sounds in their home culture and they might face difficulty in pronouncing such sounds...but a person who appreciates cultural diversity will be able to empathize with them and try to understand the intent in other person's communication rather than focusing too much on correcting them :)
There are innumerable examples like these w.r.t. eating habits, dressing, speaking which cannot be appreciated unless you are aware of cultural diversity by putting aside your the cultural biases in which you are brought up!
Ofcourse civilising and learning everyday are important but appreciating diverse cultures is equally important in this world of globalisation!
Few of my friends might still argue that my point of view is wrong, but this is what I feel :)

Serenity
Calmness of our mind is a true virtue to achieve!
We have infinite thoughts wandering inside us every moment which sometimes cause turbulence affecting our efficiencies!
One way to calm down one's own thoughts is to consiously observe them and try to figure out the cause-effect relationships which are related to those thoughts, that way one can learn the art of mastering his thoughts and also improve his ability of self-control :)

It's never too late to learn
None of us are good at everything in our lives, but each day gives us millions of opportunities to get better and elegant :)
We can either choose to ignore those opportunities and move ahead without improving ourselves and pass on the blame to our culture/society/surroundings/beliefs/priorities etc etc... Or we can consciously make an effort to pick them up to become a better personality!!!
At least with respect to one's own personality, I believe there is nothing which can't be changed given the condition you have the zeal to become better :) It's never too late to learn!!!

Make the decision right!
Few days back I happen to hear a quote from my friend which I felt is very much relevant to each one of us at some time or the other in our lives...
"Don't make the right decision, make the decision right!"
Each one of us make a decision from many of the available choices and in that process we end up spending a lot of time on weighing the choices against eachother and the task becomes more complex when the choices are almost equally best!
In such a situation I learnt that instead of working too much on making the right decision, we can spend the same time in making a decision and work on making it right :)
At the end of day what matters is your happiness, which can found in making the decision right :-)
