'అంకిత భావం' - The foundation for any success.

'అంకిత భావం' - The word which delights me today but also raises a question in my mind about not being educated in mother tongue as the language of instruction....

While starting to write today after long time...my thoughts are wandering in multiple directions but let me focus only on అంకిత భావం for today and reserve the "Mother tongue as language of instruction" for future post 🙂...

I was thinking today on what is one of the many basic elements for success in any aspect - whether it is being successful in career or successful in a competitive exam or successful in a relationship or successful in an art... The aspect which struck me first is అంకిత భావం! Not sure if I will be able to reach to the english medium kids out there 😀, so let me start with the true translation of the word...

It is "SENSE OF DEDICATION" 🙏

A true sense of dedication without excuses is the basic foundation block for being successful. Even though there are multiple other factors which drive our success which vary based on the playing field but one thing common across any field is the sense of dedication.

It provides answers for many questions or conflicts or priorities... For example, if you are procastinating something indefinitely, just sit back and think if you truly have the sense of dedication towards that goal or may be you just choose to pick up an excuse to cover up your lack of dedication 🤷... Because when you have a sense of dedication you don't really feel putting effort towards it... You will just enjoy what you are doing or spending time towards that irrespective of many external disturbances 😀

A sense of dedication will help us put aside our pride, arrogance, jealousy, anger, fear, scepticism and many other external factors which usually come in the way of our success.

A pleasant state of mind is very necessary to stay focused and being successful which definitely comes with sense of dedication towards the subject.

Some deep (might be boring for few) thoughts for today 😀😀😀 Singing off....

Anger isn't a virtue

One can get angry because of multiple reasons which can either be directly related to the party in the situation or it could just be a trigger for the already underlying frustrations at that moment...

But whatever could be the reason, anger isn't a virtue!! It has unpleasant impact on your loved ones... Some might tell you they don't like when you yell at them and some might just stay silent with a broken feeling...

Any justification given, it is not at all a good experience to give to anyone unless it is really a worth situation (which should be an exception and not a norm) to show your anger to let the other person understand your pain/worries etc...

Of course, It is an emotion and you are the master of your emotions! So you can always keep a control on it, given your determination to do it and your determination to not hurt others 🙂...

One good way to start with is just gaining self awareness that anger is not all a virtue and being conscious of this emotion if it is frequent. Once you are conscious about this, you will start retrospecting immediately, the next moment after you show that emotion and take a corrective action 😁

Always treat people with a smile and spread happiness 🙂

Tough times and good take aways

It's been sometime that I put down my thoughts and I realised that when one of my friend reminded me today 🙂...

So yeah, everyone knows these are really tough times around the world fighting a scary pandemic... One main thing I realised during these times is one should feel really fortunate if they are leading a normal life (business as usual) during these times... At least I feel I am privileged to work in a digital sector which has the option to work right from my home in a virtually connected environment....

Also, I have learnt few new things during these times on how to 'Work @ Home', 'Stay connected with loved ones' & get aligned to the new normal way of living life 😁

Appreciate cultural diversity

I am writing this post after realising from my interactions with people around me, that many of us often undermine cultural aspect before coming to a conclusion of whether something is right or wrong...

Firstly, we must understand that not every question/problem has an objective answer/solution to it. You cannot always judge a behaviour or action as universally incorrect just based on your cultural biases! Of course, according to me questions like "Is speaking a lie wrong?" has an objective answer of "Yes". But not every question can have an objective answer like that. Answer to few questions might be subject to the culture in that context... So one can't judge a person's every action by ignoring the cultural diversity...

Simple example can be pronounciation of words in a global language (at least today's) like English is done differently in different cultures...Some cultures might have not few sounds in their home culture and they might face difficulty in pronouncing such sounds...but a person who appreciates cultural diversity will be able to empathize with them and try to understand the intent in other person's communication rather than focusing too much on correcting them :)

There are innumerable examples like these w.r.t. eating habits, dressing, speaking which cannot be appreciated unless you are aware of cultural diversity by putting aside your the cultural biases in which you are brought up!

Ofcourse civilising and learning everyday are important but appreciating diverse cultures is equally important in this world of globalisation!

Few of my friends might still argue that my point of view is wrong, but this is what I feel :)

Serenity

Calmness of our mind is a true virtue to achieve!

We have infinite thoughts wandering inside us every moment which sometimes cause turbulence affecting our efficiencies!

One way to calm down one's own thoughts is to consiously observe them and try to figure out the cause-effect relationships which are related to those thoughts, that way one can learn the art of mastering his thoughts and also improve his ability of self-control :)

It's never too late to learn

None of us are good at everything in our lives, but each day gives us millions of opportunities to get better and elegant :)

We can either choose to ignore those opportunities and move ahead without improving ourselves and pass on the blame to our culture/society/surroundings/beliefs/priorities etc etc... Or we can consciously make an effort to pick them up to become a better personality!!!

At least with respect to one's own personality, I believe there is nothing which can't be changed given the condition you have the zeal to become better :) It's never too late to learn!!!

Make the decision right!

Few days back I happen to hear a quote from my friend which I felt is very much relevant to each one of us at some time or the other in our lives...

"Don't make the right decision, make the decision right!"

Each one of us make a decision from many of the available choices and in that process we end up spending a lot of time on weighing the choices against eachother and the task becomes more complex when the choices are almost equally best!

In such a situation I learnt that instead of working too much on making the right decision, we can spend the same time in making a decision and work on making it right :)

At the end of day what matters is your happiness, which can found in making the decision right :-)
